FRONTLINE STRONG - First Responders in Michigan are encouraged
to sign up for CISM training across the state.
The Wayne State University Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health
Sciences has teamed with the State of Michigan to develop a comprehensive
behavioral and mental health training and support program for the state’s
first responders and their families to address the stress they face in their
duties protecting residents.
The program, Frontline Strong Together, will be available electronically and
in-person to first responders and their families in nearly all of Michigan’s 83
counties this year. The program is being developed and implemented with
representatives of the Police Officers Association of Michigan (POAM), the
Michigan Professional Firefighters Union, the Fraternal Order of Police, the
Department of Corrections, paramedics, and dispatchers.

The training is intended for Law Enforcement, Fire Fighters, Emergency
Medical workers, Dispatch workers, and Corrections Officers.
Michigan Crisis Response Association (MCRA) hosts annual training
event in Roscommon, MI, in 2023.
The MCRA has hosted trainings in the state of Michigan for more than 35
years. For many years, the training was held at a training center in Tustin,
MI. The training center closed after 2019 and the 2020 training was
cancelled due to Covid-19. The annual training has returned and is being
held September 10-12, 2023 at the Ralph A. MacMullen Center.
For information about MCRA, resources, and additional trainings, visit the
